Key facts

The proposals to reorganise local government in Norfolk are being considered by the Boundary Committee. The Boundary Committee is a statutory committee of the Electoral Commission (an independent body set up by Parliament to instill public confidence in the democratic process). It conducts electoral reviews on behalf of the government and in December 2008 it will recommend whether there should be a reorganisation of local government in Norfolk. The Boundary Committee will make its recommendations to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Hazel Blears MP. Early next year she will decide what, if any, changes might take place.
